Three new CDs with Ira Levin will appear in 2011.
His January 2010 recording with the London Symphony of works by Michael Colina, appearing on Fleur de Son Classics distributed by Naxos. Then, his critically acclaimed Lindoro recording of the first printed edition of Bruckner's Sixth Symphony with the Symphony Orchestra of Norrlands Opera will be followed by the world premiere recording of the 1892 edition of the Second Symphony.
The award winning CD, also on Lindoro, of his own piano transcriptions will be followed by a second volume, including works by Bach, Schubert, Mahler and Richard Strauss.
The Finnish Edition Tilli, which has already published many of his piano transcriptions, will complete the series in 2011.
His 2010 orchestration of Busoni's monumental piano work, Fantasia Contrappuntistica, published at the end of 2010 by Edition Tilli, has been followed by a new orchestration in 2011 of Liszt's Fantasia and Fugue on the theme BACH, in honor of the Liszt bicentennial. The latter has already received three successful performances under Levin's direction in Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay in 2011 and the Busoni will receive it's world premiere in Finland in 2012 with the Turku Philharmonic.
He conducted five highly successful performances of Wagner's Lohengrin and two symphonic concerts at the legendary Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires in September and October of 2011 and was immediately invited back to conduct Enescu's Oedipe there in 2012, the first staged performances of that important 20th century opera in all of the Americas.
He will be recording more works by Michael Colina with the London Symphony in December of 2011.
